Some love stories take years to unfold, and ours is proof that true love always finds its way back home.

It all began in 1991 when two 14-year-olds, Dave and Lillian, shared an unforgettable two weeks of young romance. Lunchtime conversations, hallway handholding, secret rendezvous at Tomas’ apartment—complete with a game of spin the bottle that ended in a closet where nerves got the best of us. No kiss, just two shy kids caught in the excitement of first love. Then, as middle school romances often go, Lillian broke up with Dave—via a friend, in the lunch line. (We still laugh about that.)

Fast forward 27 years to December 2018, when fate stepped in once more. A simple Facebook message turned into a rekindled connection, leading to our first date on January 5, 2019. Lillian showed up—hungover from a night of fun with friends—but after a slow start and a whole lot of water, we found our spark. Football talk turned into endless laughter, and from that moment on, we were inseparable. We navigated life together, survived COVID, and even built a TV stand—without a single fight! Yes, it is possible.

Our love continued to grow, and in Cozumel, during the best vacation of our lives, our future truly took shape. Sun-soaked days, indulgent meals, and a spur-of-the-moment Jeep adventure led us to breathtaking Mayan ruins and an untouched part of the island, where time seemed to stand still. But as the sun began to set, reality hit—no electricity meant we had to make it back before dark. That night, with adventure still in our hearts, Lillian proposed. It took three tries for Dave to believe it was real, and after some amusing negotiations (10 years, 15 years, then settling on 5 years), we knew there was no need to wait.

Now, here we are—celebrating six incredible years together and planning the wedding of our dreams with the people we love most. Our story is one of first love, lost time, and beautiful reunions. A story of laughter, adventure, and a love that stood the test of time.
